Job Responsibilities
CIB Treasury is looking to hire a person to join its front office team as a trading assistant. The front office team is principally responsible for: (1) approval and pricing of Line of Business (LOB) term funding arrangements for assets and liabilities; (2) entering into funding transactions versus the LOBs to provide financing and services; (3) warehousing and reporting the associated funding spread risk (FVA); (4) risk managing the interest rate risk of the portfolio; (5) managing the production of the funding valuation curve (FVA) for notes; and (6) ownership of the P&L.
The candidate will work closely with the other members of the team to support the trading activity, monitor and report on the composition of the portfolio, fix transaction breaks, and enhance the technology needed to support the business.
The role is business facing and the candidate will interact with a diversified set of traders and sales people across the Markets businesses. The candidate will also work closely with Product Control, Financial Control, Middle Office, and Legal among other critical functions.
The candidate should be a self-starter, innovative, team-oriented, possess strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and have a basic understanding of fixed income and derivatives.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment, be confident and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as this role will have global exposure and responsibility across varying levels of management.
- Working knowledge of Investment Bank products along with financial theory and accounting principles preferred
- Knowledge of funding, liquidity and regulatory developments in the treasury space
- Strong project management skills; ability to gain consensus and drive initiatives to completion effectively
- A 'hands on' team player who is equally comfortable carrying out detailed analysis on an independent basis or coordinating input from others
- Strong business judgment and autonomy
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure with commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
- Strong process and control mindset. Strong attention to detail
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint (including PitchPro). Knowledge of Tableau is a definite plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a strong track record of partnership
