JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
  • Act as Department Performance Improvement Coordinator (DPIC) as assigned to support selected department managers in their execution of the Entergy Standardized fleet procedures, processes and software tools used to implement the key programs for Corrective Action, Self-Assessment/Benchmarking and Trending.
  • Act as the Department Training Coordinator (DTC) to serve as the primary interface between the training program owner and the training department.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screen Condition Reports for assignment, corrective actions and completion.
  • Perform, review, and provide input to department Self-Assessments and benchmarks.
  • Apply trend codes to issues documented in the Corrective Action Process and periodically review trend data to support department excellence plans.
  • Works effectively with the Management Team setting priorities, allocating resources, and driving to operational excellence.
  • Works with management to identify and address performance deficiencies. Recommends and implements actions to improve gaps to operational excellence. Recommends changes to existing methods, procedures, and processes to improve overall outage activities.
  • Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Observes and ensures compliance with procedures and policies. Assesses conditions and makes decisions under pressure and time constraints. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
  • Maintains status of incumbent participation requirements for orientation, work group-specific training, and general continuing training, including completion status.
  • Assists in the analysis of potential engineering support personnel (ESP) training topics in accordance with procedures EN-TQ-201 and EN-TQ-201-01.
  • Coordinates training requests and the technical review of training material.
  • Supports the identification of training needs.
  • Schedules department personnel to support training program development.
  • Provides feedback for training program improvements and serves as a member of the TRG.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position
  • Engineer II-Sr: B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level)
  • Technical Specialist II-IV: None.

Minimum experience required of the position
  • Engineer II: 2+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
  • Engineer III: 4+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
  • Engineer Sr: 6+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
  • Technical Specialist II: 2+ years of experience in analytical or technical discipline
  • Technical Specialist III: 4+ years of experience in analytical or technical discipline
  • Technical Specialist IV: 6+ years of experience in analytical or technical discipline

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
  • Experience in site or corporate Licensing organizations.
  • Good to excellent communication skills and experience / proficiency in PC use and applications, depending on Engineering level.
