Job description
We are looking for the right person to add to our team. The ideal candidate will enter with very strong organizational skills and attention to detail as well as an innate ability to communicate with and connect to people of different ages and demographics. This candidate will be interested in developing skills to assist in various duties within an optometric practice. We are proud of the many 5* reviews that our patients have left on Yelp, Google and Facebook and welcome adding another excellent practice representative to our team.
Primay duties include:
- patient check-in and check-out
- scheduling appointments
- handling incoming phones calls, emails, faxes and texts from patients
- cleaning, stocking and ordering supplies
As things progress, we hope to train this employee based on office needs and employee interest in areas such as:
- ordering contact lenses and managing trial and supply inventory
- submitting medication pre-authorizations to insurance
- pulling insurance benefits for upcoming appointments
- patient and insurance billing
- patient appointment pre-testing and scribing
- clinical testing and patient education
- optical repairs and adjustments
Our office is fully committed to incorporating new technologies to assist in patient care, so candidates should be very comfortable with technology and in learning new skills. The position requires some evening commitment with hours expected until 7:00 PM a couple of times per week, with an early close on Wednesdays. At this time we do not open on weekends, but we may consider doing so in the future as needs change.
It is our belief that the best candidate may not have specific experience in our field or with all duties described. We are very willing to train the right person in the skills as long as the candidate brings strong customer service skills, an eagerness to learn and be involved in providing excellent care, a willingness to leave ego at the door and an innate ability to relate to others.
We will provide an environment that allows for a truly rewarding occupation and career. The right person will have an opportunity to make a difference while utilizing their skills and strengths.
Please include with your application a brief introduction to yourself including a couple of sentences on why you are applying for this position. The right candidate will let us see a small bit of their personality and not have us believe that your response was a shotgun response to dozens of listings.
