Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale has been a respected leader in healthcare since its founding in 1938. As Broward Health’s flagship hospital, Broward Health Medical Center offers 716 beds and is home to virtually every medical specialty, including cardiac care, maternity, neonatology, pediatrics and comprehensive stroke care. Additional services include cancer care, kidney and lung transplant, orthopaedics, palliative care, robotics, sickle cell, surgical weight loss, a Level I trauma center and an on-site fitness center.
Full Time Eligible 72 Hours per pay period. 7:00am-7:30pm weekends require. High school graduation or equivalent. Six months previous experience in a hospital clinical environment. Current BLS from the American Heart Association; Basic Arrhythmia Course Certification. EKG certified preferred. Successful completion of BHMC electrocardiogram rhythm strip analysis exam. Excellent customer Service Skills required, exceptional communications skills required. The Monitor Technician supports the nursing process through the constant observation and documentation of the cardiac rhythm of patients assigned to telemetry monitoring. Under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse and reporting to the RN Manager, the Monitor Technician alerts the Nurse assigned to the patients to any changes in cardiac rate or rhythm.
