DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
- Under the direction of the Director of Plant Operations, performs administrative duties requiring independent judgment and sound problem solving skills. Assists in planning, directing and coordinating of activities and meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain department and contract files.
- Answers telephone promptly and serves as departmental secretary.
- Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies and members of the business community.
- Assists Director in monitoring operations and cost control.
- Gathers information regarding progress of work activities.
- Effectively presents information to top management.
- Documents time and attendance to include scheduling, corrections and prepares final pay reports each pay period.
- Obtains approvals and purchase of supplies and equipment for the department.
- Contributes to cost saving strategies.
- Serves as active member of EOC, Value Analysis, Pre-Construction/Projects Task Force, Emergency Preparedness and Safety Task Force.
- Serves as Site Administrator for the Hospital for the esf8 communications network.
- Works closely with the ER to ensure that drills, surveys and requests for documentation are complete.
- Responsible for the HHS Grant Fund to include purchasing and receiving items, entering documentation on the Grant participation web site and maintain documentation of all site visits from LHA.
- Prepares agendas and minutes for department coordinated meetings and committees.
- Assists Director in defining long range objectives and strategies for adapting to healthcare changes.
- Prioritizes projects/activities.
- gets projects/activities accepted through the organization's management.
- Investigates impact of projects on other departments/units.
- Prioritize and assign work orders as they are called in.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school graduate or GED equivalent. Business classes preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a responsible administrative role.
- Advanced computer skills to prepare reports, spreadsheets and maintain accurate documentation for projects.
- Ability to communicate with individuals from different backgrounds and educational levels.
- Facilitates constructive resolution and fosters team work.
- Requires emotional stability and resilience.
- Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
- Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must have good hand/eye coordination and have no color loss in eyes.
- Must be able to utilize intricate hand tools and testing devices and work with system components.
- May be required to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and stairs, push or pull varying weights.
- Must have good manual dexterity and have full range of motion in all extremities, good perception and field of vision.
- May occasionally work in semi-clean environments.
- Ability to do shift work as required.
