We are currently seeking a Operations Engineer Technician – 1st shift to strengthen and grow our team. This role will support the operations team by reducing downtime and improve our SQDCI metrics by completing projects focused in those areas.
This work and team are primarily onsite at our Headquarters in Racine, WI.

- Support the operations team by reducing downtime at the assembly lines.
- Own and complete projects which will improve SQDCI metrics.
- Understand work instructions and wiring diagrams in depth and use them to find and correct assembly issues.
- Create MES routes, fix ‘out of spec’ errors, modify character BOMs and create bouncers.
- Log issues in the Downtime Tracker, fix issues logged by line supports and find ways to prevent repeat issues.
- Sign off on WORFs after understand why the changes are necessary.
- Troubleshoot EOL and photometric issues when a simple solution cannot be found.
- Modify EOL and photometric parameters to match control plan requirements.
- Navigate Oracle, Arena and DBWorks to review BOMs, prints and reference manufacturing specs.
- Review deviations and ECOs to ensure that the production lines are using correct parts.
- Participate on R3 teams, in 6S events and on root cause/corrective action teams.
- Observe pilot builds to gain knowledge on upcoming changes to products.
- Two-year degree from a technical school in electrical or mechanical field or 3-5 years of demonstrated manufacturing experience
- Communicate with assemblers/line supports to identify issues, then after resolving the issue, communicate the solution
- A desire to learn new skills and problem solve
- Quickly and accurately capture and understand data
- Be well-organized, able to set priorities with assistance and complete tasks efficiently
- Have a basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to collaborate and communicate within cross-functional teams
- Experience with Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) – General computer knowledge
- Strong personal work ethic with ‘Do Whatever It Takes’ attitude
- Self-starter, high-energy, strong drive for accomplishment
- Good written and verbal communication
- Resourceful, hands-on, problem solving individual with initiative and drive to work around technical obstacles
- Machine shop experience is a bonus
