Schedule:
Monday – Friday: 9 am – 3 pm
Description
The Pre-Vocational/Employment Support Professional will work with participants in achieving their pre-vocational goals. They will provide prevocational skills instruction, including job support, training opportunities, and consultation to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Pre-Voc/Employment Support Professional will be responsible for implementing a variety of paid or non-paid activities to ensure participants have an opportunity to hone their skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize a variety of teaching and training techniques to execute the training plan and curriculum for participants
- Locate job sites within the community and develop a file of employers
- Develop individual training arrangements between the participant, parent, program, and employer
- Develop, implement and coordinate the work training plan for jobs
- Conduct on-site job supervision and evaluation for community places participants
- Develop transportation plans for participants with community-based job training sites
- Establish ongoing recognition systems for community employers
- Conduct seminars and counseling sessions related to community job placements
- Modify jobs and work environments through the use of job analysis
- Provide community awareness activities concerning employing disabled workers
- Develop appropriate goals/objectives for the service based on instructional responses; and ensure that participant-specific goals and objectives are met
- Perform additional work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Have an Associate’s degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university or have a high school diploma or equivalent with three (3) years of related experience
- Two (2) + years of field experience, preferably in employment-related services working with adults with developmental disabilities
- Marketing experience preferred
Training & Other Requirements:
- Possess and maintain in “good standing” a valid driver’s license
- Must pass a drug test in accordance with The Stephen Komninos' Law
- Complete/Maintain CPR, Handle with Care (HWC), First Aid, Medication Administration Certification, DDD Pre-service and/or Boggs Center Training and other trainings as required by ABS within the required time frame
- Must complete safe crisis management training, complete/maintain agency trainings at hire, yearly, and as assigned and as mandated by licensing and state regulations, and other trainings as required by ABS within the required time frame; complete 12hrs of professional development trainings per calendar year
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
