Do you have prior experience leading driver and operations teams? CORT Furniture Rental, a Berkshire Hathaway company, provides furniture rental solutions to a wide variety of customers in their homes and offices. We're looking for a Distribution Manager to lead our team of delivery drivers and ensure that our product meets quality standards and arrives where it needs to.
Salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 per year depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the distribution team and all associated aspects of distribution
- Inspects physical condition of trucks and furniture.
- Responsible, in partnership with warehouse managers, for proper staging, loading and unloading of furniture.
- Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of distribution activities with activities of other functions
- Provides and determines delivery status of furniture whether retail or rental
- Manages the scheduling, routing, and control of all trucking activity
- Responsible for truck leasing, maintenance, and safety as well as related record keeping functions, i.e. annual MVR check of drivers, monthly safety reports.
- Ensures that safety standards are adhered to in all areas of distribution. Provides necessary safety education, including OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, monthly safety meetings, videos etc.
- Responsible for completing weekly on-site checkups of deliveries
- Provides management reports as necessary;
- Purchases (as relates to the activities of department,) budgets, and manages to the distribution budget.
4 year college degree with 1 + years related industry experience or 5+ years related industry experience without a degree;- Ability to self-direct and work independently;
- Must have valid state driver’s license and safe driving record;
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs, occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
