GENERAL FUNCTION:
Scrum Masters at Dividend Finance support 2-3 remote scrum teams. The role is responsible for driving complex technical projects through to completion using Agile/Scrum methodologies as well as coaching teams on iterative development and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate daily stand-up, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives
- Work with product owners to ensure backlog is kept up to date and that user stories include all required information
- Drive sprint execution, resolving impediments and protecting the team from sprint and scope creep
- Work with the scrum team and managers to resolve problems and project roadblocks
- Help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity and velocity
- Proactively identify and eliminate impediments
- Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional projects to support business growth
- Ability to present, teach, mentor, and facilitate at multiple levels of the organization, particularly inside of a team environment.
- Ability to communicate and remove impediments outside of team
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field or equivalent in work experience
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) with demonstrable expertise of Scrum and Kanban
- 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
- Expert at writing user stories and business requirements, with the technical knowledge to be able to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively
- Critical thinker with expert problem-solving skills
- Strong oral and written communication
- Coaching skills with the ability to communicate complex messages and teach new concepts
- Ability to resolve interpersonal and organizational conflicts - strong mediator
