Intuitive Machines is seeking to HIRE a Mid-Level Thermal Analyst to join our team.

U.S citizenship required.

This position will support our partner AXIOM in the development of Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA) equipment. The applicant will be located on-site at AXIOM in Houston, TX.

The Mechanical Engineer will work in a cross-functional team on the design, development, manufacture, test, and on-orbit operation of flight and ground support hardware, such as astronaut crew aids and tools and fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Under the mentorship of a senior engineer:

• Support the design and development of EVA tools;

• Evaluate customer ConOps/Technical Specifications and derive boundary conditions for thermal models.

• Creating system level thermal models of assemblies and detailed thermal models of subassemblies and individual parts.

• Participate to design reviews and effectively present solutions.

• Perform steady state and transient thermal analyses to predict temperatures, heat flows, and heat sinking requirements

• Working with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to achieve successful design and fabrication of products

• Ability to include manufacturability and safety into design solutions.

• Experience with space EVA tools desired but not required

A candidate for this position will be encouraged to take on as much responsibility as practical and will be expected to play a role in the entire cradle-to-grave product development process, including requirements development, conceptualization, analysis, supplier relationships, procurement and fabrication management, procedure development, hands-on assembly and testing, and on-console mission operations support.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

• B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 3 years of experience in thermal analysis or related discipline; or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Proficiency with Thermal Desktop.

• Familiarity with commonly used space and commercial specifications for materials and processes.

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite Preferences

• Experience with the generation of work orders, assembly procedures and test plans.

• Familiarity with standard practices for assembly and environmental testing of space flight hardware as well as the tooling and ground support equipment associated with these tests.
