Chatham Bars Inn Resort & Spa, a 4-Star, 4-Diamond luxury resort is located in the town of Chatham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The Grounds Supervisor will work with the grounds team to assure quality craftsmanship in all facets of grounds care such as: lawn maintenance, ornamental pruning, annual installation, planting shrubs/trees, working with fine gardener, some tree work, cleaning the beach with tractor, mulching, weeding and snow removal. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working with grounds crew to execute scheduled assignments
- Meeting with manager to set priorities of day to day operation
- Evaluating and verifying employee performance through the review of completed work, assignments and work techniques
- Coordinate with outside vendors, landscapers etc.
- Maintenance and repair of irrigation system
- Supervision of beach maintenance
- Assist with winter operations: plowing, sanding etc.
- All other duties as assigned by Grounds manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a supervisory or team lead is desirable
- Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance, trimmers, leaf blowers, and other related equipment is required.
- Plant knowledge, planting skills, tree and shrub care, pruning.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required
- Tractor experience a plus but not required
- Snow removal/snow plow operation is a plus but not required. Schedule varies during winter time based on snow storms
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to work weekends and be flexible with schedule. Required overtime during spring planting season
