Lower 48 Overview
The Lower 48 represents the largest ConocoPhillips business segment today based on production. The company has high-quality positions in the United States unconventionals, which are low cost of supply and low GHG intensity assets with significant upside potential.
The company’s large Lower 48 position of 10.8 million net acres, including unconventional holdings of approximately 2 million net acres, gives access to scalable inventory with low cost of supply and low GHG emissions intensity that can generate significant returns over many years of future development. The Lower 48 segment is organized into two business units covering the Permian and Gulf Coast & Rockies. Current major focus areas for the Lower 48 include the Delaware and Midland Basins in Permian, as well as the Eagle Ford and Bakken.
Description
In this position, you will utilize collaboration and leadership skills to identify HR issues, implement effective solutions, and guide the business on people processes. You will be accountable for all HRBP functions for your client groups, giving independently within the broader HRBP network.
You may be eligible for the voluntary hybrid office work (HOW) program that is designed to provide employees with flexibility while maintaining the advantages of in-person engagement.
This position is located in Midland or Houston, TX.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Acting as thinking partner/coach for business leadership on various HR issues & processes impacting the strategic and long-range business plans
- Driving design and implementation of core business staffing plans
- Performing sophisticated and non-routine HRBP functions
- Developing creative solutions to various problems and advising businesses accordingly
- Ensuring processes are consistent while maintaining client relationships through understanding their strategies and business operations
- Advising on HR issues regarding staffing, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, talent management, and succession planning
- Conferring with the Centers of Excellence (COEs) and implementing policies/programs while providing feedback to the COE’s on issues impacting the business (e.g., compensation, recruiting, employee relations, talent management)
- Participating on special projects related to delivering the strategic needs of the business
Basic/Required:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, other related discipline, or foreign equivalent
- 5+ years of direct experience in human resources
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis
Preferred:
- Master's degree or higher in Human Resources Management, other related business field, or foreign equivalent
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certifications
- 5+ years of direct experience as a Human Resources Generalist/Business Partner
- 1+ years of experience with HR investigations
- 1+ years of experience with HR Systems such as SAP or Workday
- 1+ years of broad HR technical experience in compensation and benefits, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, talent management, and succession planning
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
- Results oriented, both individually and for a team; demonstrable ability to deliver key results on stretch goals
- Able to evaluate short- and long-range needs of business
- Customer focus- relates well with employees at all levels
- Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
- Analyzes stakeholder needs, global, political, and market trends to understand how they shape the future and impact business results
- Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
