Lower 48 Asset Overview
The Lower 48 represents the largest ConocoPhillips business segment today based on production. The company has high-quality positions in the United States unconventionals, which are low cost of supply and low GHG intensity assets with significant upside potential.
The company’s large Lower 48 position of 10.8 million net acres, including unconventional holdings of approximately 2 million net acres, gives access to scalable inventory with low cost of supply and low GHG emissions intensity that can generate significant returns over many years of future development. The Lower 48 segment is organized into two business units covering the Permian and Gulf Coast & Rockies. Current major focus areas for the Lower 48 include the Delaware and Midland Basins in Permian, as well as the Eagle Ford and Bakken.
Description
If you are selected as the HR Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and consultative support to the associated functional leadership teams for Special Projects, Drilling and Completions, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology and Permian Security. Key responsibilities include driving implementation of business staffing plans; performing complex and non-routine HRBP functions; developing creative solutions to various problems and advising the business accordingly; acting as a thinking partner/coach for business leadership on various HR issues & processes impacting the strategic and long range business plans.
You may be eligible for the voluntary hybrid office work (HOW) program that is designed to provide employees with flexibility while maintaining the advantages of in-person engagement.
This position is located in Midland or Houston, TX.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Ensuring HR processes are consistent and linked with Lower 48 HR processes while maintaining client relationships through understanding their strategies and business operations
- Integrating succession planning/talent management processes with functions to identify high potential employees, bench strength for positions and gaps
- Participating on business and L48 HR leadership teams
- Identifying leadership and development opportunities for the business
- Supporting the functions in developing workforce and strategic staffing plans and processes to enable the als of the business
- Consulting with and supporting functions on HR issues regarding staffing, compensation, performance management, employee relations/complaints, talent and succession management
- Supervising 2 HRBPs and 1 HR Associate
- Consulting with the COEs on the particular needs of the functions and on implementing policies/programs and providing feedback on issues impacting the business (e.g. compensation, staffing, employee relations, expatriate, talent management)
- Leading special projects related to delivering the strategic needs of the business
Basic/Required:
- 7+ years of direct experience in Human Resources
- 3+ years of direct experience as a Human Resources Generalist/Business Partner
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis
Preferred:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, other related discipline, or foreign equivalent
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certifications
- 1+ years of experience as a coach and mentor, both inside and outside the function
- Intermediate level of proficiency in HR technical expertise
- Able to evaluate short and long range needs of business
- Ability to identify and demonstrate opportunities
