Positions Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will focus their time on supporting our sales department to fulfill new and existing customer's shipping needs and demand. You will be the operational support to the sales department - complete check calls and update all parties involved. Call/Post Loads to find carrier that meet requirements, get them set up and dispatched in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible to see that operations are always evolving. That all loads are continuously updated in the system and customer needs are communicated daily.

• Provide carrier support including: check calls, carrier set-up, carrier finding, etc.
• Foster growth in freight brokerage business through collaboration with customers and carriers with a willingness to do what it takes to ensure our customers' needs are met.
• Meet and exceed sales goals set by the Manager.
• Responsible to assist & maintain all new customers set forth by the Sales Manager.
• Develop your own set of profitable shippers and carriers, develop the need for more staff.
• Responsible to see that carriers assigned to customer loads are compliant with company standards and meet service standards.

Education and/or Experience:

Associates Degree preferred; High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required preferred A general understanding of overall freight movement.

Skills and Abilities:

• Highly effective phone and communication skills. Have the ability to be sociable and professional with all customers. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as computer reports and printouts. Ability to write and type correspondence and reports.
• The ability to interpret, analyze, and understand reports. Must have the ability to create reports based upon customers' needs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Valid driver's License
• Must be self motivated, be energized, pleasant, positive personality and the ability to get along well with customers, co-workers, carriers and vendors.
• Have the ability to exude and display a professional and pleasant demeanor especially while speaking over the phone.
