POSITION: Patient Access Services Representative - Call Center
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: .5-.8 FTE (40-64 hours/pay period)
WORK SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri, Days - Remote
DEPARTMENT: Patient Access

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for answering all incoming calls to the facility during clinic hours. Employees are responsible for determining the needs of the caller as quickly and as courteously as possible and responding appropriately.
JOB DUTIES:
- Demonstrate proficiency in directing phone calls to the appropriate area and/or sending an electronic message to the appropriate area accurately.
- Monitors the attendance of providers and department directors and uses this information in determining the best way to direct calls.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the scheduling of patient appointments. This includes following principles of scheduling with the required information populated.
- Verify insurance, patient information, guarantor and account information at the time of scheduling.
- Confirms provider appointments by calling patients to remind them of appointment time and location and manages rescheduling appointment if necessary.
- Daily completion of patient and claim edit work queues as required to improve the revenue cycle.
- Collaborates with the business office, financial advocates and the Designated Authorization Group (DAG) to support the revenue cycle.
- Prioritizes the customer experience and acts with the customer in mind in all situations, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; established and maintains confidential, trusting, and respectful relationships with patients, coworkers and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Age 18 years or older
- Associates degree in business related field preferred
- An Understanding of revenue cycle management and the ability to collect co-payments and present fiscal information in a professional confidential manner.
- Ability to use appropriate computer applications.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to discuss financial obligations with patients in a professional and confidential manner.
- Adhere to all Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies.
- Maintains consistent and reliable attendance.
- Ability and willingness to cover all patient access areas as needed, including weekend coverage.
