Job Summary
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for a Principal Electrical Engineer to be part of our Integration (Build) and Test team in Launch Vehicles at our Chandler, AZ facility.
Job Responsibilities
The candidate will serve as an Integration and Test Principal Electrical Engineer for the T4 Program, requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Daily responsibilities may require direct contact with sensitive launch vehicle flight hardware and ground support equipment. The candidate may be expected to help develop, plan and/or perform integration and testing activities associated with the assembly of flight hardware, testing of assembled systems and components, or execution/support of live fire tests (static and/or flight) at various facilities or launch ranges. Specific duties may include:
- Establish tools to be used for program execution
- Hands-on integration and testing at a systems level
- Developing/maintaining procedures
- Incorporating hardware design changes
- Developing/planning/coordinating integration activities
- Complying with strict aerospace standards
- Supporting live fire static testing and flight test events
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum Education / Experience: 5 Years with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; 3 Years with Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Northrop Grumman Electrical Test Specialist Level 1, TM-27532-1 Certification
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for travel
- Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer community
- Hands-on electrical aptitude
- Ability to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Ability to work in a team environment, and lead small projects or teams
- Ability to travel: Travel expectation 25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing formal requirements decomposition and/or verification
- Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering background
- Experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
- Experience with external customer interfacing including meetings, presentations & negotiations
- Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems
- Knowledge and experience with CAD software
- Experience working with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles
- Hands-on electrical aptitude and diagnostic experience
