JOST INTERNATIONAL IS HIRING A GENERAL PRODUCTION WORKER/FORKLIFT OPERATOR FOR A POSITION IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN

The Michigan location is both the North America corporate headquarters and the landing gear and king pin manufacturing plant. GRIFFIN GENERAL PRODUCTION/FORKLIFT OPERATOR INTRODUCTION:
This position reports to the Supervisor of the area they are working in. (i.e., Kingpin/NDT, Welding, Shipping, etc.) It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
Performs functions that required in various production areas based on need for that day. Areas include but are not limited to Galvanized Clean Cell, Big Tex Drill Press, NDT, Weld Robots, Cross Shaft and Production Hi-Lo.

GENERAL PRODUCTION WORKER/FORKLIFT OPERATOR
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
- Train in various production areas to be able to cover call ins and PTO days for team members to ensure continued and efficient production in said area.
- In each are follows work instructions, blueprints, orders, and other required company documents.
- Maintains equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly condition.
- Documents actions during shift by completing production and quality logs and ensures all documentation is complete and accurate as required in perspective area.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Follows company work rules, safety rules and policies at all times.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others.
- Operates forklift as directed.
- Will adhere to preventive maintenance requirements as established.
- Ability to take direction from leadership and to communicate information clearly and directly to co-workers and supervisors both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to gain knowledge of, understanding of and abide by JOST’s Basic Processes and gain knowledge of company products. Will also comply with quality, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.

GENERAL PRODUCTION WORKER/FORKLIFT OPERATOR
REQUIREMENTS:
- General knowledge of forklift operation and material handling.
- Ability to gain Training Certification/Operator Permit for forklift as defined by company standards.
- Basic math skills as defined by company standards.
- Ability to read and write legibly as defined by company standards.
- Understanding of Basic Processes.
- Ability to gain knowledge of company products and company quality procedures.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, bend, twist, push, pull and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
- Versatile and comfortable working in several different production areas day to day.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is generally performed in a production plant warehouse setting.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
