Job description
Position Title: School Counselor- Certified
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Principal/Assistant Principal
Position Description: Responsible for providing assessment, counseling, written reports and referrals for students that aide in school safety and the social-emotional well being of students. Provides students and families with resources to help meet students social and emotional needs. Works closely with administration to ensure students safety and overall physical, and emotional well being.
Essential Functions:
· Plan and maintain an effective school counseling program that aligns with school vision and mission, ensuring student health and safety.
Develops and maintains professional and trusting relationships with students to support social and emotional needs.
· Communicate the goals of the comprehensive school counseling program with students, staff and parents.
· Assist all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career and personal/social/emotional skills, goals and plans.
· Complete reports as required by Federal, State and local agencies.
· Collaborate and communicate with parents/guardians, and other educators to assist the students.
· Participate in school meetings, staff meetings and committees as needed.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Imagine Schools Six Measures of Excellence in the execution of duties.
- Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/School Leader.
Must be State Certified
Preferred Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health or related field.
· Experience: 2-3 years similar experience.
· Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and statutes. Ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with other staff, students and parents in a multi-cultural environment. Basic computer skills.

Pay: $51,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
