LOCATION: The position is based at DrinkPAK's headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.

TEAM: Quality

POSITION: Sr. Director, Quality. The responsible for overseeing and developing effective Quality processes and programs, reviewing product and process specifications and requirements, managing certifications, monitoring products compliance, and ensuring all product development procedures adhere to quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing the company's quality policies and programs and methods to inspect, test, and validate product and production processes.
  • Collaborating with the management team across the company to set quality benchmarks and ensure high-quality documentation based on the latest industry standards.
  • Implementing Quality procedures and managing processes across the organization including incoming, line inspections and in process, analyzing quality data and issuing corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Working with Process Improvement Engineering to ensure the product performs to Quality and Food Safety standards and maintainability of new and existing features.
  • Providing technical direction and support with respect to all aspects of the company's business compliance activities.
  • Ensuring that all Quality Systems in all locations are in full compliance with regulatory requirements and are aligned with Company Quality policies and programs.
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement of quality procedures to meet high internal standards and regulatory requirements and ultimately deliver high-quality, cost-effective products to the customer.
  • Championing co-manufacturing and co-packer commissioning and qualification processes.
  • Taking a leadership role in digitization of quality reporting and compliance processes.
  • Participating in industry coalition meetings and providing feedback on new and upcoming FDA regulations.
  • Protecting the brand through continuous improvement in the areas of compliance to Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Sanitation, and Corporate Standards.
  • Discharging the stewardship responsibilities of Food Safety, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance, managing the number and severity of incidents down and effectively crisis managing incidents that do occur.
  • Providing support to all manufacturing facilities on Can, Can Technology and Thermal Process, and keeping management apprised of the state of product quality and significant problems to assure adequate information for decision-making.
  • Directing Regulatory and Crisis Management Programs and providing guidance to companies Manufacturing facilities on all Legislative changes and providing support to implement necessary changes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Food Science or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 year’s of experience in food & beverage manufacturing
  • Experience in the management of Quality Systems and Technical Services functions.

Experience with thermal processing

  • Solid understanding of Title 21 of the Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Act including a good understanding of the new requirements coming from the New Era of Smarter Food Safety.
