Shortridge Academy is a nationally recognized strength-based, year-round college-preparatory boarding school for bright and engaging teens who are struggling with a variety of social, emotional, and educational issues.

Shortridge currently has openings for Full-time Awake Overnight Staff, ensuring the safety and security of the students and campus. A $1,000 signing bonus is included upon hire that will be paid out at 3 months and 6 months!

Responsibilities:

• Regularly review and adhere to Security Post Orders including campus, facility and student supervision and communication protocols
• Participate in regular security staff meetings
• Interact professionally with staff from other departments or other approved campus visitors
• Communicate with the Security Supervisor and Residential and Academic Departments to support efficient transitions between the start and finish of security shifts
• Contribute accurate and thorough information for the nightly Security Reports
• Participate in staff trainings
• Follow protocol for all security equipment including alarm systems and communication devices, and report any associated issues
• Familiarize with all safety material and equipment related to communication and emergency response, including policies and procedures.
• Participate in writing Incident Reports for all qualified incidents
• Support and promote a culture of inclusion and respect among students and fellow staff in our school and community

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge requirements:

• 1+ years of progressively responsible security experience preferred
• Interpersonal skills with adults and adolescents
• Proficiency with IT, specifically the Iphones and security apps
• History of good judgment and tact in stressful situations
• Ability to receive positive and constructive feedback
• Reliability and punctuality
