The Distribution Data Entry Clerk position is responsible for providing administrative and data entry assistance to the Distribution Department. This position will provide exceptional customer service and support to all programs of the Houston Food Bank. Maintain professional business relations with internal staff and outside departments. Keeps management well informed of area activities.

  • Reliable, consistent, on-site attendance is a requirement. This position requires punctuality and dependable attendance to meet the needs of the business, including attending and taking part in meetings and presentations.
  • Process and release agency web orders in Ceres, Validate, adjust quantities, and adjust shipment information, when necessary.
  • Create agency orders and agency pallet tags for mobiles, food fairs, Brighter Bites, and other full pallet orders.
  • Create agency orders for special events.
  • Make adjustments and cancellations to agency orders, when necessary.
  • Process agency picks and invoices.
  • Manage the administration side of online ordering systems (Agency Express and AppointmentPlus)
  • Communicate with partners and other departments about any other adjustments, issues, etc.
  • Provide partner customer service by confirming orders, addressing orders and/or delivery issues, receiving quality control feedback, etc. through phone calls and emails.
  • Ensure orders match across all department tools (Ceres, Delivery Schedule, paperwork).

*QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2 + years of prior data entry experience, preferred

  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files, and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to learn office and department-specific software.
  • Attention to detail.
