Description

Lower 48 Joint Venture Accounting – Operated team’s core responsibilities include billing expenses to working interest owners where ConocoPhillips is the operator, managing accounts receivable (A/R) balances, completing prior period equity changes, paying expenses to operators where ConocoPhillips has a working interest, resolving outstanding disputes, and completing general ledger account reconciliations.

L48 Joint Venture Accounting Operated Team Lead position requires effective communication with internal and external customers including, but not limited to, L48 Business Unit, Land, JV Audit, Cash Applications, Accounting Policy, Land Administration and External Working Interest Parties. This position will be expected to provide guidance and support to a staff of account receivable analysts and drive consistency and efficiencies in processes. Some SAP systems experience is preferred.

This position is located in Bartlesville, OK, and minimum travel is expected.

Your responsibilities may include:

• L48 Joint Venture Accounting Operated Team Lead position is responsible for effectively handling our Joint Venture A/R balances and minimizing exposure to ConocoPhillips. They analyze working interest owner disputes, provide backup as requested, communicate as needed to the appropriate contact within the organization to resolve, and ensure SAP properly reflects monthly accounting activity
• This position is responsible for providing guidance and support to the Accounts Receivable team, leading collective team initiatives, and modeling effective collaboration and communication
• Collaboration is required across a broad range of business partners in a variety of subject matter areas including L48 Business Unit, Lower 48 Revenue, Land, JV Audit, Cash Applications, Accounting Policy, Land Administration, Legal, External Working Interest Parties, Business Development, and COP Management

Basic/Required:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Math, or other analytical discipline, or foreign equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in oil & gas or energy-related industry

Preferred:

• 3+ years of experience with SAP, EnergyLink, Microsoft O365 applications, and data analytics tools such as Power BI and Spotfire
• 1+ years of experience with general ledger account reconciliations
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Experience seeking and finding new ways to resolve difficult issues effectively
• Effective communication and presentation skills and experience
• Takes ownership of actions and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
• Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
• Delegates authority responsibly so others can deliver results and solve problems without fear
