Job Description:

Responsible for the layout, set up and operation of tool room machines including performing all operations such as fitting and assembling jigs and fixtures as well as making, repairing and checking measuring devices.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with drawings, lathes, milling, boring, shaping and grinding machines.

• Previous experience with precision measuring and testing equipment, jig and monorail cranes, jigs, fixtures, cutting tools, tool maker hand tools, etc.

• Be able to perform very close tolerance fits on above operations, and checking processed unit or part of to drawing, using precision tools and gauges, making alterations as required.

• Previous experience performing all machining operations such as turning, facing, milling, boring, shaping, cutting, etc., on pieces such as cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, templates, collets, arbors, square and hexagon fit tool bushings, etc.

• Previous experience fitting, machining, repairing and assembing whole units or parts of jigs, fixtures, gauges, metal core boxes, patterns, etc.

• Ability to make and check measuring instruments and devices; make ordinary dies; and make model parts and assist in model assembly.

• This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee, WI

• 1st Shift Position

• The Pay is: Step 1- $25.99 hr , Step 2 - $27.02 hr, Step 3 - $28.16.

• No relocation assistance is available.
